Here is a chain of beer cafes that bring the best of international bottled beers to the table. If you are headed to Orion Mall and simply want some unpretentious beer, draft or bottled, then The Beer Café is for you. Let us start with the Indian beers, shall we? Kingfisher is there, but of course, and is available in premium and strong and my pick, the 'Ultra Max'. Then there is the currently popular 'Geist', with 3 variants, the 'Witty Wit', 'Weiss Guy' and 'Uncle Dunkel'. My personal favourite being the 'Uncle Dunkel'. Each of these beers is available from everything beginning from a mug to a litre stein to pitchers, towers and tanks. This takes care of you whether you are there solo or with a group of friends. Popular favourites like the 'Tuborg', 'Foster’s', 'Miller', 'Bud' and 'Bira'. Then come my area of interest – the International beers. 'Sol from Mexico', 'Tsingtao from Chine' and 'Desperadoes', with tequila flavouring are some good options. I was quite surprised by the light 'Happy by Thirsty from Bosnia'. Very chuggable this one is. Then there is the slightly pricier 'Stella Artois' and 'Asahi'. Also, on the list are 'Edelweiss' and 'Affligem' and the 'Leffe Blonde', all good picks if you are looking to splurge. A number of USA beers find their way to the list – the range from 'Franconia' being one. The Beer Café also has a full-fledged bar for those who perhaps feel the need for something stiffer. The food at Beer Café is all about providing something substantial to those enjoying their beers. Of course, you are going to linger here over beer and food. Go with the simple 'French Fries' or up the ante with the 'Dutch Fries' that have onions, jalapenos, tomato and some mayo and ketchup. For that Indian feel, the 'Koliwada Fried Chicken' is a good idea as is the 'Ajwaini Fish Tikka'. The crunch factor comes in with the 'Battered Onion Rings'. The menu also has pizzas, kinds of pasta and complete meals for you to choose from such as biryanis, gravies and accompaniments to them. Choose to sit indoors on days that there are shows by the lakeside. Things can get noisy. Service can be a little slow on weekends.
