From the bharwan paneer tikka stuffed with vegetable and cheese, and the subz aur gucchi di galouti to the bhatti da kukkad (chicken kabab) and, most importantly, the gosht ke parche (lamb kababs topped with almonds), one can literally make a meal out of appetisers over here. But do not do that. Try the beautifully prepared nalli nihari, where slow-cooked lamb shanks will actually work your appetite up. Had best with parathas or a tandoori roti, this particular dish is an absolute treat. For vegetarians, the two recommended dishes are the Lahori dum aloo (potatoes filled with green peas and fenugreek) and the turshe paneer (stuffed paneer in almond and saffron gravy). And the dal Riwaz (black lentils cooked with tomatoes, butter and cream) is definitely on my list of recommended dishes.
