That is just how I feel whenever I visit JW Marriott on Lavelle Road, Bengaluru. The place means some serious business when it comes to food and for one’s who have an eternal sweet tooth, the place to be is ‘Bengaluru Baking Company’ or as the locals lovingly call it, BBC. The desserts are something you acknowledge not only as a separate course but as a meal. I don’t mind ordering myself a chunky slice of chocolate cake once in a while and label it dinner. For local foodies and die hard sugar buffs BBC is their sweet mecca. This place is simply gorgeous and well equipped to tempt a saint. Whenever the craving for sweet dishes pounce upon you, drive down to JW Marriott and toss your keys to the valet and slip in to BBC for a guilt free bite.

Bengaluru Baking Company is part of a beautiful five star property so some amount of class and luxury is taken for granted. If there is one thing any great hotel offers it’s a flawless service which you get at BBC undoubtedly. The staff here is cordial and friendly, always eager to serve you. You can call BBC a café with a serious love affair with desserts so to make their fare more delectable they convey the right backdrop. The café is large and generously spacious. The walls and fixtures are pure white which is rather stunning with the architecture. To give the space a relief they have infused some pop colours in furniture and wall arts. Casual and cheery chairs distribute the space forming small enclaves where you can lay back with friends over coffee.

The café does a wild array of salads, sandwiches, shakes, pastries, cakes, coffee, wraps and chocolates. They even encourage the patrons to create their own sandwiches by offering them multiple choices for stuffing. The pastry chef at BBC is sensational. His cakes are nothing short of a work of art and are in huge demand. The café is renowned for making the best red velvet cake in the city which is no empty boast. BBC is only medium pricey which is fair considering the elegant preparations and sophisticated surroundings.
