Bangalore just does not let up when it comes to brewpubs, not that we are complaining. I loved the food the first time I was at Arena and could not wait for the beers to starts and now that it has, yay!. The menu has become more compact and the small plates section is a great way to start off your meal and pair them with some of the beers. Let us start with beers – It is the 'Hefe' and the 'Czech Pilsner' that worked for me really well. I am not an IPA person and so steered clear, though from the sampler I felt it was among the milder ones in terms of bitterness. We started off with the 'Chicken Nachos' – some good guac and salsa coming on this platter. From the looks of it, the sushi is something that does really well at Arena. Almost every table seemed to have an order go through and the restaurant was full. The 'Seared Salmon Nigiri' would be my pick. Among the Dim Sum and Baos, the 'Edamame and Truffle' (the truffle works like a charm) and the Japanese pan-fried 'Pork Gyoza' area great. Definitely, do the 'Flatbread Artisanal Pizza', they are really good and quite substantial. We tried the 'Pepperoni' that had pine nuts and sun dried tomatoes and was lovely. Of the Arena specials, the 'Surf and Turf' as well as the 'Grilled Tasmanian Scallops' would be my top suggestions. There is also an entire section dedicated to the Asian Kitchen.
